On Wednesday 28th February, we had a special lunch and party to wish Pilar all the best in her new job, and sorrow at her parting from Cairdeas. We showed her good support with a large crowd of members attending the party. We had lovely bun burger and chips for lunch. Then the staff members gave Pilar nice going away gifts to show their appreciation. Then Pilar gave a very moving speech, and you could clearly see how moved she was. We are all very sad to lose her. She is a lovely person who takes her job very seriously. Then we had a very interesting and enjoyable afternoon with karaoke, everyone up to sing a song or two. Some members wanted to sing duets, myself and Maryann included. Great jigging and dancing. Everyone seemed to enjoy the singing, especially hearing your voice through a microphone!
It’s wonderful to have our own karaoke machine for future events.
All in all, a great going away party, but sad all the same to be losing Pilar.
