Steps to Health Challenge

The HSE Steps to Health challenge runs from Monday 13th May until 16th June. Cairdeas registered for this programme and we received a box of step counters/ pedometers so we can track how many steps we take and the progress we make over the five week challenge, beginning this Monday.

The goal is to reach 10,000 steps per day by adding a few hundred steps extra to your normal routine. There is a badge to be given out as a prize to the person who improved the most at the end of each week.

There was an enthusiastic response from the members for the challenge (already 10 members and staff have signed up) and we had a demonstration class on Thursday on how to use the counter, then reset it and record your total each evening in the booklet.

We still have some step counters left, so let us know if you want to sign up if you haven’t done so already. Let the challenge commence!
