On the eleventh of July, a group of members from Cairdeas paid a fun visit to Dun Laoghaire pier and afterwards to Weatherspoon’s bar and restaurant. The summer weather was as good as ever and everyone enjoyed the walk. The sun was splitting the sky.
It was a great afternoon/evening. The pier was in pristine clean condition. The Boats in the harbour looked blithely clean and nice. All the other members of the public on the pier were in cheerful form. Some teenagers were taking advantage of the good weather and going for a few dips and swims in the Irish sea in the harbour. Overall everyone was in good form. The weather helped cheer up all the participants. Some of the views from the walkway on the pier were very scenic.
Weatherspoon’s was packed but we found a nice table. The food was very good value and the meal included Pizzas, Bread, Chicken Wings, Prawns and Tea and Beer. We enjoyed a very good atmosphere in the pub after the walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The prices offered by the pub was very amenable to everyone. Including those on a limited income. This was particularly welcomed by all the diners.
